About the role

The Sustainability Consultant will support the delivery of sustainability consultancy services across a varied portfolio of commercial real estate assets. The role is focused on practical delivery, helping to translate sustainability strategies into clear, actionable outputs at asset and project level.

Working within a structured delivery environment, you will support services such as ESG‑enhanced Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Net Zero Asset Plans, and wider sustainability advisory projects. You will contribute to multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and clarity in all deliverables.

This role suits someone with a technical background who enjoys working with data, building systems, and defined methodologies. You will play a key role in maintaining project documentation, analysing building performance data, and supporting senior consultants with delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop into a well‑rounded sustainability consultant within a growing and evolving team, gaining exposure to a wide range of sustainability services and real estate asset types.

What matters most in the role

Strong and reliable delivery is central to success in this role. You will be expected to manage multiple tasks across different projects, follow defined methodologies, and consistently deliver accurate, high‑quality outputs to agreed timelines.

Attention to detail, confidence working with data, and a practical mindset are essential. The ability to proactively identify risks or gaps in information, communicate clearly, and support smooth project delivery will be key to adding value across client engagements.

Other duties will include

  • Supporting the development of sustainability‑aligned planned maintenance plans
  • Reviewing building systems and identifying sustainability and performance improvement opportunities
  • Assisting with data analysis and action planning for Net Zero Asset Plans
  • Maintaining project trackers, dashboards, and reporting tools
  • Supporting sustainability inputs across design and refurbishment projects
  • Drafting sections of client‑facing reports and summaries
What we expect from you

You will bring a relevant degree (or equivalent experience) in engineering, building services, sustainability, or a related discipline, with 1–3 years’ professional experience in a relevant technical or consultancy role.

You will have a basic understanding of building systems such as HVAC, lighting, controls, and renewables, and an awareness of sustainability principles within the built environment, including energy efficiency and carbon reduction.

You will be comfortable working within structured processes and defined methodologies, with the ability to manage and progress multiple tasks across different projects at the same time.

Strong attention to detail and confidence working with data are essential. You should be capable of reviewing, interpreting, and analysing building and energy data to support informed decision‑making.

You will be practical and delivery‑focused, with a clear bias toward getting work completed to a high standard and issued on time, while maintaining consistency across outputs.

You will be organised, reliable, and proactive, with clear communication skills and a collaborative approach. You should feel confident working independently once tasks are defined, while seeking clarity or support when required.
