Working alongside MassMutual, CVC DIF will enable Low Carbon to significantly expand its installed capacity and drive the next stage of growth as a diversified, leading next-generation IPP.
Role Description
This role will support the Power Management team and contribute to the success of Low Carbon’s commercial power activities, including the origination, analysis and execution of Power Purchase Agreements, market price analysis, power price risk management and hedging-related reporting.
The role will be responsible for managing relevant market information, price data, power price curves and internal analytical outputs used by the business to support commercial decision-making. This includes maintaining the power price hedges subledger, compiling and analysing third-party and internal power price curves, monitoring relevant market developments, and running Low Carbon’s proprietary power and risk management system, Juniper.
The Analyst will provide analytical support across power price assumptions, PPA valuation, hedge execution, market monitoring and management information. The role will require close interaction with the Power Management team, Finance, Investment, Asset Management and external market counterparties.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and distribute power market price data and analytics, using relevant market sources and systems including Power Price spot systems, 3rd party consultants price curves and other datasets.
- Compile, review and analyse power price curves, supporting the business in understanding market movements, pricing assumptions and the impact on asset valuations, PPAs and hedging decisions.
- Maintain the power price hedges subledger, ensuring accuracy, completeness and consistency of hedge-related information.
- Run and manage outputs from Juniper, Low Carbon’s proprietary power and risk management system, including scenario analysis, data updates and reporting outputs.
- Monitor relevant power market developments and provide analytical support on key power price trends, market risks and commercial implications.
- Support PPA deal valuation, preparation and negotiation, including analysis of contract structures, pricing options and risk allocation.
- Support management information and reporting for existing operational assets, including P13 assets and future price hedge execution.
- Manage deal flow tracking and management information through maintenance and distribution of relevant spreadsheets, reports and dashboards to key stakeholders.
- Support interactions with Investment, Finance, Asset Management and other internal stakeholders, ensuring information flows are accurate, timely and well-controlled.
- Coordinate information requests with traders, advisers and other external counterparties, ensuring data quality and attention to detail.
- Support ongoing improvements to power price reporting, hedge tracking, market data management and analytical processes.

Skills & Experience
- Degree qualified, or equivalent, ideally in maths and computer science or in a numerical, finance, economics, engineering, energy or business discipline.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong coding and Excel skills are essential.
- Exposure to power markets, hedging, commodity markets or energy analytics would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Experience working with market data, price curves, risk management systems or reporting tools would be advantageous.
- Ability to manage data accurately and maintain robust reporting processes.
- Commercial awareness and ability to understand how market movements affect asset value, revenues, PPAs and hedging decisions.
- Ability to manage relationships effectively with internal stakeholders and external counterparties.
