We are seeking a dedicated Operations Manager to join our team in Glasgow. In this vital role, you will lead and oversee the department, ensuring that our operations run efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with company and global regulations. Your strategic leadership will align our plant operations with business objectives, guide long-term planning, and encourage a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading Operations Department (~35 FTEs) at the site.
- Responsible for reliable and predictable operations to ensure delivery of OEE excellence. Reduce process variability and improve consistency.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory legislation, SHE, and regulatory standards.
- Ensure compliance with all quality standards (ISO 9001, HACCP, Halal and Kosher certification).
- Support the transfer of manufacturing technology and systems to and from other sites.
- Define long term capital needs and support the development of capital budgets, plans, and definition scope.
- Takes ownership for the develop of site KPIs and the delivery of manufacturing excellence.
- Work with the maintenance managers to ensure that maintenance schemes and operational activities are defined and executed.
- Management and improvement of costs (fixed and variable).
- Managing performance and career development of all direct reports through coaching, regular feedback & development sessions on a one-to-one basis.
- Take responsibility as a member of the site leadership team.
- A minimum of Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred),
- Minimum six years of experience in manufacturing within the chemical industry, including at least three years in a leadership role,
- Knowledge of process safety and environmental management,
- Strong people leadership and management skills,
- Effective team player.
