About the role

As a climate scale up we are looking for a Senior Product Designer with startup experience to help develop new products, and scale our existing product p

ortfolio.Working within the Product and Engineering team whilst closely collaborating with our designers in Brand and Marketing, the Senior Product Designer will work hand-in-hand with Product Managers to deliver creative, industry-leading product flows to solve the business needs of our customers whilst delivering the highest quality environmental impact.

The Senior Product Designer will be a creative self-starter who is able to deeply understand customer needs and the bigger conceptual picture. They will be comfortable wearing a business hat, ensuring that their designs push KPIs and other health indicators of our products. They should be proactive communicators confident in working with others across the business where needed.

What you will achieve

• Design product concepts that make an ever-greater positive impact on the planet. You will ensure the quality and efficacy of environmental impact, whilst balancing vision, craft, speed and business potential
• Craft every aspect of every detail of new product features, from idea to UX to pixels. You will be supported by other designers, an established design system and a strong Brand team.
• Run projects end-to-end and collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers.
• With the help of PMs, use analytics and data to deliver the best designs and compromises, getting to proof points early to prove business value.
• Create new patterns which are intuitive, practical and convergent.
• You will work with other designers to help evolve our design system.
• Develop a deep understanding of the climate space and the challenges that projects and customers face.
• Help to define the future of Product Design at Ecologi and in the future help hire more designers.

Essential Skills

• Prior startup/early-stage product experience with examples of products or flows that you’ve delivered through to market. Rounded skills with the ability to get stuck into any part of the Product Design process.
• You value working cross functionally and can make progress even with significant ambiguity.
• You seek to understand the needs of customers then explore and advocate for the strongest user experiences to solve their problems.and use intuition to create accessible flows that ensure customers feel confident, trust what they are using and get value with the least amount of effort.
• You care about business needs, implications, and the practicality of your designs.
• You don't get stuck on perfect UI or deep abstractions and can balance between craft, speed, and the bottom line.
• You have strong beliefs, loosely held. You're a good listener who collaborates well with different stakeholders. You observe and internalise all inputs and feedback to help you reach an optimal decision.
• You understand how to tell stories using both words and visuals, and can strategize on how to deliver messages to customers and internal stakeholders alike.

Nice to haves

• You enjoy untangling complex problems
• You keep up to date with the latest trends, tools and philosophies in Product Design
• You have a deep understanding of Figma (what we use) or a similar tool such as Sketch/XD
• You can understand some code/have some understanding of modern front-end frameworks such as React
• You have an understanding of how startups can develop information silos and have an urge to help fix them and improve processes
• Prior experience in the climate spaceConfidence in public speaking and pushing a design agenda across a company
