🌱📦Company: What we do

Our vision at Renée is a world without wasted materials! Renée Materials is a circular marketplace where companies offer their offcuts, surplus stock, and leftovers for reuse by creatives and makers, reducing waste and emissions at scale. It's essentially like 'Too-Good-To-Go' but for materials.

We are committed to helping the planet close the resource loop - our current target audiences are just the start.

🌍💰 Opportunity: Why we do what we do
Our society is wasteful. And this waste is a problem. Not only does it cause significant environmental problems, it’s costly too. Around 5% of companies annual turnover is lost on waste. And it’s not black bins we are talking about, it’s beautiful high-quality materials that currently end up in landfills. Legislation and reputational risk requires businesses to change - now.

We’ve been working to fix this problem for two years. We’ve saved almost 12 tonnes of material and discovered an incredible opportunity. Offering business’ leftovers to creatives and makers (as our initial target buyers, expanding to a B2B model in the future). They not only get materials that are free from social and environmental exploitation, they also get it at half the price they would pay for it anywhere else. A clear win-win-win, because Renee earns a big part of the sales price!

📈🎨Where we are at

We have bootstrapped our way to a successful web MVP, and now we’re going to get investment and build an app. We’ve built a network of 40 companies profiting from our service, with 20,000 creatives in our network. Our online shop is operating in the whole UK alongside two physical Hubs in London. We saved almost 12t of materials from waste, a carbon saving of 97,430kgCO2e - that’s equivalent to the annual emissions of about 9 Brits. So let’s put it that way: the whole Renée Team + you is already net-negative ;).
