POSITION DESCRIPTION:Optima Energy, a Valsoft company, is seeking a Business Development Executive to join our growing commercial team in the UK. This role is ideal for a motivated sales professional with experience in the energy sector who is ready to drive growth and build lasting client relationships.
The successful candidate will identify, develop, and convert new opportunities across the UK energy market, focusing on brokers, TPIs, large end users, housing associations, and public sector organisations. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams to position Optima’s innovative solutions—such as bill validation, data analytics platforms, PDF parsing automation, carbon reporting, and exception reporting—to meet customer needs and deliver business growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:New Business & Lead Generation
Sales Process Management
Account & Relationship Building
Market & Product Knowledge
Proven experience in B2B sales within the energy industry — ideally with a broker, TPI, supplier, software provider, or consultancy
Strong understanding of:
Experience building and managing a sales pipeline
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Self-starter mindset with the ability to work autonomously
